Villa Mt Eden Winery was acquired by Ste. Michelle Wine Estates in 1986, but the label is apparently no longer being used.
It was founded in 1881, making it one of the older operating wineries in Napa Valley while it still existed.
It used to be located where the current PlumpJack Winery is now. When purchased by Ste. Michelle, the entire wine team was moved to the Silverado Trail location, which was shared by the still-existing Conn Creek Winery.
Conn Creek purchased all its grapes from Napa Growers whereas Villa Mt. Eden purchases grapes from various sources throughout California which as of press time includes Sonoma, Napa, Santa Barbara & Amador counties.
