Characteristics: Dusty cranberry-pomegranate fruit and Middle Eastern
spices like coriander, cardamom, cumin, fennel, Chinese 5-spice. Very intense and concentrated due to extremely low crop yield.
Description: Planted 1918, used for packing grapes to home winemakers back east during Prohibition. All dry-farmed and organically certified, vines are “pygmy” bush vines (2 ft tall) with roots going down 30-50 feet to get water. Average yield of 1/3 ton/acre, 1/2 ton in a good year!
